[D.G.I.F.] magazine 8.4

Issue 8.4 of the D.G.I.F. fan club magazine has 12 color pages. The reduction from the usual 16 pages is noticed even before the envelope is opened, since it has a rather 'flimsy' feel to it. Let's hope they go back to the full 16 pages next time around. The front cover is a picture of Deborah with a cigar (shown on the left) from what seems to be the same photo-shoot as the February picture in the 1997 calendar. The people that criticized her for 'endorsing' smoking can rest assured now.

The next two pages contain a table of contents (new feature! ;-) and a large personal hand-written note from Deborah which covers over one-and-a-half page. Pages four and five provide us with a song-by-song synopsis of the new album, "Deborah". The sixth page shows us some fan pictures. Deborah poses on the road with numerous fans, like for instance Dan Carmen (on the right) in Pittsburgh, PA.

Page seven shows Deborah 'out on the town', going to the David Copperfield show (left) "Dreams and Nightmares" in New York, and with Santa at the annual Christmas tree lighting on Long Island. The picture on the right shows Deborah posing with her sister Denise and her friend Richard Weitz.

The next two pages give an atmospheric picture collage celebrating the 10th (!) anniversary of the 7" single release of "Only In My Dreams". How time flies by when you're having fun! On the right one of the pictures is shown: Deborah with her dancers backstage at club 10.18 in New York City, March 13, 1987. Pages ten and eleven each contain a fan interview, from respectively Myra Wong and Eric Van Sickle. The back cover shows a scene from Funny Girl (below).
